Our inaugural season was a huge success
We grew the club, won some races, had some fun and most of all came out of it with a strong ‘Ohana
We got our paddles wet for the first time on Easter Sunday with our first three canoes and added our fourth in October
And we went directly into race season. Our Regatta season was a big success with the club taking the NCOCA Small Club Points Championship and placing in all five regattas, including two firsts. It was not only the medals, but the great ‘Ohana and memories that we all took from the season. We had over forty paddlers participate on our regatta team from ages 17 – “Moses”.
Starting with the Malia Regatta and the chants of GO BLUE!
The Long Distance Season started with both our crews bringing home first place medals at the Berkeley Pier Race. Next up was the Alcatraz race where we brought five crews. Santa Cruz and Angel Island rounded out the season. In all, we placed in 14 of 15 events, including 7 firsts.
Then there were the after race naps
